ACTING FROM VERSUS REACTING TO

May 22, 2008

It is to remain calm and centered at all times with all people in all situations. It is not what people say or don't say, or what people do or don't do. It is how one chooses to feel about it and whether or not one chooses to react to it (hopefully not). It is to "act from" one's center of peace--not "react to" others. One uses energy unnecessarily in reacting to the words and actions of others, and this can cause one to feel drained.

As long as one keeps reacting to a particular issue rather than being calm and centered about it, one is going to keep attracting more of the same. In this way, one's antagonists serve as angel teachers. Do you see? However, one doesn't have to choose to associate with people who judge and criticize. One can choose to disengage and distance one's self from the perpetrators. Indeed, this can be necessary for one's wellbeing for a time, for it is detrimental on several levels. It is not to do so in an angry, defensive fashion, but to calmly and sincerely state one's intent and follow through.

HOLISM VERSUS WHOLISM

Holism versus Wholism
Copyright 1988, Angel-Light Love

Holism or Wholism—which is it? This issue is one which has arisen in recent years as the New Age movement has grown and medical doctors and mental health professionals have begun to give credence to the concept that humans are to be treated as whole entities and not divided into physical, mental, and spiritual parts. Much of the psychological literature one sees today reflects the term as holism.

Let’s examine this. What words could “holism" come from? Let’s see. There’s the word “holy.” What does the word “holy” mean? Webster’s New Twentieth Century Unabridged Dictionary defines the term “holy” as: (1) belonging to or coming from God; hallowed; consecrated or set apart to a sacred use; having a sacred character or associations; (2) spiritually perfect or pure free from sin; perfect in a moral sense; (3) deserving reverence or worship; (4) associated with Jesus and his life; and (5) very much of a (as in “holy” terror). Except for the last instance, this would seem to give the term “holism” a meaning having to do only with the spiritual aspect of humans.

Now what else do we find? “Holism” could come from the word “hole.” How does Webster define “hole”? “Hole” is: (1) a hollow or hollowed-out place; cavity; specifically, (a) an excavation; pit; (b) a small bay or inlet; cove; often in place names; (c) a pool or deep, relatively wide place in a stream; (d) an animal’s burrow or lair; den; (2) a small, dingy, squalid place; any dirty, badly lighted room, house, etc.; (3) a prison cell; (4) (a) an opening in or through anything; break; gap; (b) a tear or rent, as in a garment; (5) a flaw; fault; blemish; defect; (6) in gold, (a) a small, round, hollow place into which the ball is to be hit; (b) the tee, fairway, greens, etc. leading to this; (7) an embarrassing situation or position; a predicament; a scrape; a fix. Now how could anyone possibly use the spelling “holism” without thinking of one or more of these definitions of the word “hole”? Seems very negative, doesn’t it?

How about the spelling “wholism”? “Wholism” seems obviously to come from the word “whole.” What does Webster say about the noun “whole”? “Whole” is defined as: (1) the entire amount, quantity, extent, or sum of something; (2) not broken, damaged, injured, defective, etc; intact (3) containing all of its elements or parts; entire, complete; (4) not divided up; in a single unit; (5) constituting the entire amount, extent, number, etc.; (6) having both parents in common; (7) in arithmetic, not a fraction.

There we have it! The correct spelling is not “holism”; it’s “wholism”! No contest. End of discussion.

BREATH TECHNIQUES

May 16, 2008

It occurred to me that it would be good to post more of the many processes I have in document form. (Have posted a few in the past.) Some of the breath techniques follow.

CONTROL AND CLEAR THOUGHTS: Close the left nostril with you finger and inhale through the right nostril. Hold for a count of 8 and then exhale through the same (right) nostril. Then close your right nostril with your finger and inhale through the left nostril. Hold for the count of 8 and then exhale through the same (left) nostril. Repeat as many times and on as many occasions as you feel necessary.

BALANCE BRAIN HEMISPHERES: Close the left nostril with your finger and inhale through the right nostril. Hold for a count of 8 and then exhale through the other (left) nostril. Then close the right nostril with your finger and inhale through the left nostril. Hold for the count of 8 and then exhale through the other (right) nostril. Repeat as many times and on as many occasions as you feel necessary.

OXYGENATE THE BLOODSTREAM: (1) Pucker your lips. Close the nostrils with your fingers. Inhale slowly through the mouth. Then close the mouth and exhale slowly through the nostrils. Do this ten times. (This liberates the etheric current.) (2) Stand or sit erect with your spine as straight as possible. Place the tip of your tongue at the roof of the mouth behind the upper front teeth. Close both nostrils with your fingers. Inhale slowly through the mouth until the lungs fill to capacity. Then exhale slowly through the mouth, intentionally contracting the abdomen at the same time. Do this ten times.

ENERGIZE: Take several rapid breaths in and out through the mouth, making sure to pull the air down into the abdomen. You will usually see your abdomen expand when inhaling and retract when exhaling. If not, purposefully make that happen. Repeat silently to yourself over and over: "I am energized. I am vitalized."

RELAX: Take a deep breath, slowing pulling the air down into the lower portion of your diaphragm. You should notice your abdomen expanding. Then slowly release the air out through the mouth. In through the nose, out through the mouth. It will be helpful to silently repeat the word "relax" in your mind, dividing it into syllables--one syllable on the inhale and one syllable when you exhale. Do this several times. Then you might say silently to yourself as you continue to deep breathe: "With every breath I take, I am becoming more and more relaxed, more and more relaxed."

WARMING BREATH: Using the muscles of the diaphragm, forcibly exhale through the nose. Draw in the stomach and abdomen in a forceful way while exhaling, using that motion to force the air out of your lungs. Release the abdominal muscles to exhale. Do this one fairly quickly and not more than about 10 times to begin with. This can be increased when you are more used to the energy and heat this powerful breathing exercise can generate in your body. Do not overdo this one!

COOLING BREATH: Put your tongue on the roof of your mouth and inhale through your mouth with a hissing sound. Hold the breath 2 or 3 counts. Then exhale slowly through your nose. Feel coolness throughout your body, particularly in your brain, mouth, nose, breathing passages, and lungs. Say silently to yourself: “I am cool, calm, and collected.”

BALANCE & CHARGE ALL ENERGY CENTERS: Inhale to the count of 2. Hold to the count of 4. Exhale to the count of 6. Hold for the count of 4. Repeat several times.

SLOW DOWN METABOLISM: Plug up right nostril and breathe through the left nostril. Use if fasting or if no food on hand and you won’t be hungry.

SPEED UP METABOLISM: Plus up left nostril and breathe through the right nostril.

GENERATING VITAL FORCE: Breathe deeply, inhaling slowly to the count of four, holding to the count of four, and then exhaling to the count of eight. Do this six times [or more if needed].

NOTHINGNESS BREATH: Open your mouth slightly. Press gently and smoothly inward on your abdomen with your palms. Breathe out during a count to 6. Hold for a count of 2. Release smoothly and breathe in during a count to 6. Hold for a count of 2. Repeat this whole process 3 times. Drop your arms to your sides, and close your eyes if they are not already closed. Let go of everything and enjoy the state of “nothingness” for about 5 minutes or the time that feels right for you.

EARTHBOUND SPIRITS

May 15, 2008

When I sensed cigar smoke in an almost-empty, nonsmoking restaurant recently, I assumed that it came from the clothes of the two teenage boys I was walking by. However, when I noticed it in my car later, I realized there was either an earthbound spirit with me or someone paying a visit from "the other side." Quickly determined the former. This one communicated he wanted to "pass over." We communicated a little, and then we gave him his wish. I can also communicate with people on "the other side." I confess that I don't always get all the words of these earthbound spirits, but I "hear" enough.

I occasionally catch a glimpse of earthbound spirits but don't see them as clearly as some people do. I just sense their presence. Once they recognize that they have found someone who can assist (which is evidenced by "angel wings"), they follow me--unless they don't want to be rescued, of course. Recently, I have asked for the ability to see "earthbound spirits," for I believe we can assist more of them if I can see them. Those spirits who have attached and become "caught" in the electromagnetic fields of human body-mind units are harder to detect--especially if they've been attached for several years. We find such as these in different ways. There have been some very interesting experiences--to say the least!

PRAYER AND MEDITATION

May 9, 2008

I like to describe praying as asking and meditating as listening. It seems that many people are doing one to the neglect or even exclusion of the other when both are important for balance and wellbeing. Another ingredient in this recipe is giving thanks--gratitude. When one is feeling burdened, finding things to be grateful for can lift one out of the dungeon into the light of day. Meister Eckhart, a German mystic who transitioned in the 14th century, combined prayer with gratitude when he taught: "If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, that will be enough."

Some would add praise to the mix. It seems to me that the method with which one gives thanks and the feeling one has when so doing can incorporate praise. Maybe a joyous, loud THANK YOU followed by a few minutes of silence (within and without) is the formula for busy people--at least in the beginning. What do you think?
