I like to describe praying as asking and meditating as listening. It seems that many people are doing one to the neglect or even exclusion of the other when both are important for balance and wellbeing. Another ingredient in this recipe is giving thanks--gratitude. When one is feeling burdened, finding things to be grateful for can lift one out of the dungeon into the light of day. Meister Eckhart, a German mystic who transitioned in the 14th century, combined prayer with gratitude when he taught: "If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, that will be enough."

Some would add praise to the mix. It seems to me that the method with which one gives thanks and the feeling one has when so doing can incorporate praise. Maybe a joyous, loud THANK YOU followed by a few minutes of silence (within and without) is the formula for busy people--at least in the beginning. What do you think?

Seeking to serve (locally and long distance), we are one known as Angel-Light. Our healing/teaching mission at this level of existence is supported by donations of persons who appreciate and value our service.
