EXPOSING DARKNESS

Recently, someone in one of my Yahoo groups shared an article by Mat Walker (www.starseedshaman.info) about healers and teachers who stress the importance of focusing on using light to heal people who seek assistance rather than focusing on finding the underlying causes of the symptoms. According to Mat, a shamanic teacher of his altered the healing modality she had learned because her teacher (a world renowned healer) was giving people light energy to restore them without finding the causes of their issues and addressing them. Mat reports that this led to temporary healings for her clients, but then issues would come up again that were very similar to what they went in for and which were usually based around an aspect of their life that kept reoccurring. Mat is of the opinion that a healer shouldn't have repeat customers dealing with the same issues, and that’s a sign that the work isn’t effective.

Here is some of Mat’s reasoning: “I think a lot of these ‘positive thinking’ teachings are designed to entrap us and make us lethargic and indifferent. What? How can I say that?! Because, there is absolutely nothing enlightened about being an ostrich with its head in the ground. I do believe in positive thinking and manifesting our reality and future with our thoughts, but I also believe that neglecting the things around us that need our attention is irresponsible as human beings. Shouldn't we be aware of what needs to change? . . . When we expose things, people are then able to realize what needs to change and what is real and unreal. When you dissolve fear, what power can they take from you? Nothing. . . . We want to heal our world and make it a better place, and while I do believe that focusing on the positive is great preventive medicine, it does not heal what is already wrong. If we really want to heal ourselves and the planet, we must be able to figure out what is wrong. A doctor needs to diagnose a problem before he can try to treat it, or else he is just giving out random medicine. . . I believe this is related to Jung's concept of the shadow, the more we repress it and ignore it the larger it grows to try to gain our attention, . . .” Mat give an example of Jesus Christ: “While this man was on Earth he spoke out against the injustices he saw while preaching love as his main message. I believe that it isn't about the issues we focus on that feeds them energetically, but rather our reaction to them. If your reaction is fearful or angry, once again, this might be a shadow issue needing healing from within.”

With the exception that there are some contaminants which reoccur over time by virtue of living as human or because of trauma to the body, I agree with Mat that the underlying core and root causes need to be addressed for healing to be effective over the long term, although I confess that sometimes I wonder if we’re revealing information that people don’t need with the Soul-Personality-Energy Analysis. However, what a person may not realize is that even though his/her life is okay without any major issues, the life can be improved upon by exposing corruption, contamination, damage, etc. (via the Analysis) and then addressing what is uncovered (with the Divine Reconnective Healing Process—although the Process covers three or four times as much as what is revealed in the Analysis). Most people who ask for the Analysis and Process have major issues before they contact me, but there are others who don’t and just want to cover their bases.

Shortly before reading Mat’s article, I had been wondering again whether I should stop providing the Analysis. It was like a Divine message to read his words—a message that we’re to continue. I recommend checking Mat’s site and reading more (www.starseedshaman.info).
