Once in the early 1980s at a garage/yard sale, I picked up a hard-backed book called, Autobiography of a Yogi. When I opened it, I found myself looking into the eyes of Paramahansa Yogananda and I recognized him (and that's a story for another blog). I purchased the book and still have it (packed away in the storage unit, along with most of my other books). Paramahansa Yogananda, who transitioned in the 1950s, was one of the first East Indians to bring Eastern religious thought to the United States. Yogananda, raised in the Hindu tradition, taught Christ Consciousness, and he included words of Jesus and others from The New Testament in his books and teachings. I identify very much with Yogananda's teachings. I've been blessed with having access to books of Yogananda's teachings in recent months. Read again and again, the truths Yogananda presented so simply renew and restore me. There are several organizations which attempt to carry on Yogananda's work in the United States, including the Ananda Centers. More information can be obtained by going to the following addresses on the web: www.ananda.org www.expandinglight.org

I recently read (again) the following words of Paramahansa Yogananda: "If you love God for His own self, not because of what He can give you, and if you are completely attracted by His divine magnetism, that power from Him goes out from your own heart and mind, and by your slightest little wish, you will attract unto yourself the fulfillment of that desire. If you have unconditional love for God, He drops thoughts in others' brains, and they become instruments to fulfill even your unspoken desires. So divine magnetism, by which you can attract anything unto yourself, is the kind of attractiveness you want to develop....."

My Love Work is my reason to be living. I am supported by donations of some of those I assist (some do not have funds to donate) and by others who want to support my ministry (some because they personally are unable to devote as much time as they want to helping others). Apparently, I haven't been loving God enough (or properly) because donations have been insufficient in recent months, and there are major needs at this time--especially car repairs. Either God hasn't dropped enough thoughts in enough people's brains (as Yogananda would say) or the "dropped thoughts" are going in one ear and out the other--or both. Ha-ha!

Finding humor even in times of need, I am Angel-Light. I Am That I Am.
