ARE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS AN ISSUE?

Sometimes negative thoughts come into one’s mind through external stimulus (television, internet, etc.), and sometimes they are created by one’s own mind. Other times, they are thought forms of other people and spirits of the astral realm that haven’t dissipated over time.  There can be other causes, but I’ll stop here.

One way to get off the train of negative thoughts is to sit or stand, staring at a wall for several seconds--at eye level, from six feet or so away. Then keep your head in that straight position while turning your eyes up at an angle to a higher position on the wall (without excess strain), and holding them there for about the same amount of time as the previous position.  Do this three times, remembering to breathe before, starting, between sets, and after ending.

Another way to deal with negative thoughts is to speak “neutralize” after each that comes through or from your mind. Another word, preferred by some people, is “cancel.” Some people use both, or even the words “delete” or “erase.”  Any speaking of the word is powerful, but adding an action and/or image in your mind, although not absolutely necessary, adds power.

For example, if you’re familiar with keyboards used to create documents and circulate on the Internet, there is a delete button at the lower right, you can imagine pushing that key when commanding the word “delete.”  For the word “neutralize,” you can imagine a powerful ray gun zapping a dark cloud. For the word “erase,” you can imagine a school or conference room board (old-fashioned in these days, but still used), with dark letters and imagine them being erased.  You can be creative and think of your own images and mind actions for each word.

Whatever the reasons for the habit of negative thinking or the intrusion of negative thoughts, they can be minimized over time with these and other practices.

This article has been developing in my mind all day, and I’m finally getting around to it thanks to a Facebook share by a friend I just saw that says: “Saying you are sick affirms more sickness. Saying you are healing affirms healing.”   I realize that I write on this and related subjects several times a year, but the power of the word can’t be emphasized enough, in my opinion.

I see words like, “I have [pick a disease or condition]” too many times on social media. Have? You name it, you claim it.

Why not make it less direct with something like, “There seems to have been [pick a disease or condition] that is healing now.”  Or, “I have been healing my body’s [pick a disease or condition] for several weeks now, and I’m making progress.”

Put every issue or dis-ease in past tense, such as “has been” or “have been.”  Some people recommend using “healed,” (past tense) as well. However, that can be too big a stretch for the subconscious of most people, so I prefer present tense, action verb, “healing.”   So, use past tense for identifying the issue and present tense for change happening.

It’s important to be very careful about what words you use after “I am,” and even the contraction “I’m.”  For example: “I’m healing a head cold today.” Or, better yet,”I have been healing a head cold.”

One of my favorite mantras is, “Now healing, healing now.”  Another is: Now clearing, clearing now.”

This is a short one, but it makes the point: Name it and claim it.
