September 28, 2008

On September 17th, I posted "Manifesting Intention," a blog based on the work of Mary "Mo" Wheeler (ex-psychologist) and her associates ( www.energyhealingpartners.com ). I have created a handout titled "Want Statements" by gathering those statements from materials on the web site and adding a few others. A contact shared this handout with some of her contacts, one of whom responded negatively, equating wanting with wishing and hoping. She suggested beginning statements with "I am choosing."

The "want statements" on the handout are not made with wishing and hoping energy. They are made as instructions to one's guides and Council (as invoked in the first paragraph). These statements are not about manifesting in 3D. They are about clearing and healing one's self. Wheeler et al. put a lot of time and effort into the information on the web site, and they didn't include anything that doesn't get results for many people. The "want statements" get results. I do not recommend using the word "want" to manifest, but the "want statements" used by Wheeler et al. are not about manifesting. They are instructions to one's support team.

The person who forwarded her contact's complaint sent some words from a book of a wholistic gentleman whom I respect and whose words I appreciate as backup for not using "I want" statements: "To ask for anything is actually a statement of lack to the universe." And "To give thanks for anything is a statement to the universe that it is already in your possession. . . ." These words are clearly about manifesting in 3D--not about clearing and healing. I use the word "ask" throughout the clearing-healing process we provide (1 1/2 hours to initiate) because it is respectful (and I have testimonials from around the world that the clearing and healing work of the Angel-Light team gets results).

What student of ancient spiritual and religious writings (such as myself) hasn't read many times words such as: "Ask and it shall be given you"? Giving thanks in advance is a nice touch for it generates feelings of gratitude. So many times I have read and heard "channelled" words that emphasize asking for what you want and that the "divine ones" can't intervene unless they are asked. Wheeler et al. wrote that guides of several of them have reminded them, "We don't know what you want from us unless you tell us." So they created want statements.

In the many handouts we distribute, we don't use "I need." We use "I am," "I am asking," "I am invoking, " "I decree I am, and "I want." It is the words "I am wanting" that carry wishing and hoping energy--not the words "I want." A young child knows how important an "I want" statement by a parent is by the manner in which it is delivered (tone of voice, inflections, etc.). Most people would agree that it is as much about how you say something as what you say.

Write me if you would like the want statements handout sent to you or have particular issues you have for which there might be a handout.
