One
only has to read the lengthy introduction of Gustav Davidson’s, “A Dictionary
of Angels: Including the Fallen Angels” to discover that the subject and
definition of angels isn’t simple. As
fascinating a topic as it might be, in this article, we’re mainly going to
focus on angels with regard to their conduct.
At
http://www.freebiblestudyguides.org/bible-tips/angels-messengers-of-god.htm,
we find: “There are four main words used
to describe angels in the Bible. The New Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the
Bible shows the words cherubim (Strong's Hebrew [H] number 3742) and seraphim
(H8314) refer to powerful winged creatures that serve God. Also, the Hebrew
word malak (H4397) appears about 195 times in the Old Testament and is most
often translated as angel or messenger. In the New Testament the word angelos
(Greek 32) is primarily translated as angel.”
My
Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the term “angel” as “an attendant spirit or
guardian” and “a spiritual being superior to man in power and intelligence.” Just about everyone considers angels to be of
helpful and benevolent intent and conduct. On
the other hand, most people define devils as spirits of harmful, malevolent
intent. Among several definitions of the
word “devil” in Merriam-Webster, we find “a malignant spirit.” The word “malignant” is defined as “evil,”
and the word “evil” is defined as “something that brings sorrow, distress, or
calamity.” Devils are also called “demons.” I prefer the term “devil” because the word “demon/daemon
originally, in Greek, referred to all kinds of spirits—not just evil spirits. One
can simplify and use the label “angels” for benevolent spirits and the term “devils”
for malevolent spirits, which we do in our Soul-Personality-Energy Analysis,
which provides about 175 pieces of information.
There
are several reasons we may find devils attached to or stalking a person. A person who carries a chip on his or her shoulder,
or gets into arguments often, or who becomes enraged at other drivers, or holds
hate and anger in the heart will usually have devils around. On the other hand, goodhearted people can
also have devils around because they are targets of anger or jealously or
hatred by other people. More often than
not, we find both devils and angels with people who undergo our Soul-Personality-Energy
Analysis. People who are in the helping professions and/or engaged in spiritual
and metaphysical healing for others and/or do a lot of volunteer work usually
have both. We can deal with and banish
the devils and teach the individual how to do so, but if darkhearted people
continue to think negatively of the person or, worse, engage in the dark arts
with the person as a target, more in-depth work may be necessary—depending on
the circumstances. The persecution can
continue after the death of the body of the perpetrator if the deceased is
lodged in the lower astral realms of existence (and many darkhearted ones find
themselves there after their bodies no longer live).
There
are people who contact me for assistance who think they have devils (using that
label or a number of others), who actually have none. On the other hand, we find devils with people
who never suspected they had devils with them.
Almost always, we find at least one angel, and usually more, with all
who ask for the Soul-Personality-Energy Analysis.
