The
first part of this article is personal sharing and background information. I have
lived at a senior citizen/elderly apartment property where rent is based on
income for several years. The wonderful organization that owns and operates
this fairly young property not only provides low-income senior citizens with
housing, but also veterans and other types of people. The company has a “resident-centered
approach” (words from their web sites and literature). For the first few years I was here, we had a
manager with good communication and interpersonal skills and a kind heart. We didn’t always get what we wanted from him,
but his delivery was respectful. One
resident had lived at a commercial property he had managed in the past and told
me and others that he is the best manager she ever had. His life’s work was in
apartment management. His health
deteriorated, and we lost him to a heart attack.
We
were several months without a manager at this property and were so grateful
when one moved on site in the last quarter of 2012. That gratitude quickly turned into
shock. You see, New Manager’s
“management style” was as different from that of prior manager’s “style” as day
and night. I prayed for New Manager a
lot over the next year, but finally gave up because New Manager hadn’t changed.
During that first year (and even to this day), some residents called this a
prison camp environment with New Manager as commander. New Manager had been ordained a minister by
the organization that operates this property; unfortunately, New Manager
doesn’t have a minister’s heart or a ministerial countenance. Residents haven’t
been treated as if they have anything to contribute as community members (as
had been the case under previous management). New Manager has come across as
condescending in New Manager’s interactions with people who have protested New
Manager’s “management style” and decisions and lack of attention to concerns
about the apartment property in general.
More than one person has been overheard saying that previous manager is
probably “turning over in his grave” since New Manager arrived. New Manager projects a closed, unfriendly
vibe rather than an open, welcoming vibe.
All too often, New Manager has blamed senior citizen/elderly residents
for maintenance issues and ignored suggestions and complaints while pretending
they would be addressed. Some have called New Manager “two-faced” and like two
different people. Some residents have been afraid to complain because of
threats made in letters delivered to residents’ doors and posted in our
community room during the first several months under New Manager and verbal
delivery of what New Manager wants and doesn’t want in an authoritative, “I’m-the-boss”
manner. New Manager recently told a
group of residents gathering for another reason that residents can complain
about anything that goes on with our individual apartments but not anything
about the apartment complex as a whole (landscaping, trash dumpster,
etc.). Suffice it to say, New Manager’s “style”
doesn’t reflect the purported values of the organization that owns and operates
the property. Unfortunately, New Manager’s supervisor has backed New Manager’s
decisions at least 75% of the time. In all fairness, it seems to me that New
Manager’s management skills have improved with experience, but I agree with
some residents who claim her “interpersonal skills” are the same as always. As
someone has said several times, “I don’t feel her heart.”
Recently
New Manager interrupted a gathering of some residents (about one-fourth of
residents) with our part-time Services Coordinator, and New Manager’s words and
demeanor deeply saddened me because, once again, New Manager didn’t come across
as resident-centered (as the parent organization claims to be), but more
authoritative and controlling and angry and disrespectful. It was made clear that New Manager doesn’t
want resident input on anything except resident apartments (although backing
off a little when gently challenged by one of the residents). Many times, it’s
not what one says that is offensive, but how one says it, the delivery, and the
vibes one is emanating. New Manager verbally demands respect from residents,
but respect works both ways. Senior citizens/elderly deserve respect, and
allowances for shortcomings due to age need to be taken into consideration (as
prior manager did). Senior citizens/elderly are not to be treated as if they
are in junior high school.
Within a day of the resident gathering, two
other long-term residents ranted and raved loudly to me at length about their
hatred (yes, the hate word) of New Manager, including claiming New Manager is
racist because New Manager favors residents of New Manager’s own race, and
residents of that race don’t question anything New Manager says or does (not exactly
true because I have heard some residents of that race grumble, too). Some are afraid they’ll get evicted if they
complain, so they keep silent, and there is some validity to those fears
because that possibility has been mentioned in authoritative letters from New
Manager to residents during the first year of New Manager’s presence. On the
other hand, there are some residents who express they haven’t been treated
poorly by New Manager. Some are church-going Christians and just keep silent
and pray. And that brings us to the subject of this article.
There
are two scriptures in The New Testament of The Holy Bible that are applicable

Because
this issue with New Manager has been in my heart and on my mind, I began
preparing to pray for New Manager again first thing this morning. However, it immediately became so clear that
I was to initiate the full Divine Reconnective Healing Process for New Manager,
so I pulled out the lengthy document (about 450 items now) and began. First I
called upon the Angel-Light Team and various other heavenlies on behalf of New
Manager in the name of Christ. Then I
gave general instructions and clarifications to ensure we’re not overstepping
when doing the work. Then I spent
several hours giving instructions to the Angel-Light Team and asking the
Heavenlies for assistance for New Manager.
I had more input than usual when so doing--guidance to cover certain
things and revise certain items for the benefit of New Manager. And some words
just flew out of my mouth. I felt such
joy, even exaltation at times. I’m given we’ll be able to assist New Manager
about 70% (every bit helps), and the work will only take about ten weeks to
complete because this is “major league.”
Normally, we take at least twelve weeks to complete what we’re allowed
to do via the DRH Process on behalf of individuals. Over the twenty-five years
of my ministering, some sensitive people whom we’ve assisted that have
spiritual gifts and psychic abilities have reported seeing angels and receiving
input from the angels that they came from Angel-Light, and some have reported
sensing my person with them. Most of the people we’ve assisted since my
Lightmobile had to go the auto graveyard and I gave up the “traveling angel”
lifestyle (before moving to this apartment community) have been unable or
minimally able to donate in support of my ministry. Nevertheless, as long as this
life continues and the Angel-Light Team is available, we will continue to
assist people in various ways as guided and allowed.
We are the Angel-Light
Team—a collective of beings on mission to assist humanity. We don’t do
business. We do service. We trust Divine
to provide for our human instrument through the kindness and generosity of
others. You may want to support our multifaceted ministry/mission with a
donation to Angel-Light Love. There is a convenient donate button on the
♥Angel-Light Beamer♥, and there is an Amazon wish list (link provided upon
request). May all be well with you! May
there be plenty for you!
