AFFIRMATIONS-DECREES-STATEMENTS

In a telephone consultation yesterday, someone made the comment: “These
affirmations aren’t working.” That statement inspired me to search the ♥Angel-Light
Beamer♥ (using the
search mechanism at the top left) to find articles we’ve written on the subject
that is the title of this article—from 2005 to present. Scanned about twenty (and
there were more) and took excerpts to include here. So, the following
paragraphs may not flow well. Before we get to them, I want to emphasize that affirmations
are primarily about changing our own selves.
And, there can be both negative and positive affirmations (intentional
and unintentional). Here we go!
I wasn’t a big fan of affirmations for many years. [Current note:
I’m still not, for that matter—at least when they are being used to manifest specific
things or about specific people we want in our lives.] For one thing, if one is affirming something
that isn’t true, then one’s subconsciousness is going to have a big laugh at
your expense. You see, we can’t fool our subconscious. Also, many times self-sabotage begins in the
subconscious mind. Therefore, if one is
going to affirm, one cannot affirm something that isn’t true—except and unless
one is using action verbs (with some exceptions, of course). One’s life may
seem stagnant on the surface, but underneath the surface, aka behind the
scenes, there is a lot going on, and we have the opportunity to affect what is
going on via self-talk, including affirming.
One’s vibration is affected by many things—for the better or for
the worse. I’m sure that readers can make a list of what increases/raises the
vibration and what lowers/decreases the vibration.
A Facebook friend posted an update with words of Joel Osteen:
“Whatever follows ‘I AM’ will come looking for you.” If I had a dollar for every time I’ve
reminded a person of that (in various words) over the years, I’d replace my
last lightmobile (which went to its final resting place in 2010). Putting negative words after “I Am” just
isn’t to be done. And it’s almost as bad to put them after the contraction
“I’m.” So, let us not do so!
When you decree and affirm with “I Am” and, to a lesser degree,
with “I’m,” (especially aloud), your being and your universe shifts and
changes. And your angels, crew, staff,
support team, etc. seek to accommodate you and assist--as long as your decree or affirmation is congruent with your soul plan
for this life. If you haven’t made
use of decrees and affirmations to effect change regularly, it may take some
time for your spiritual assistance to come on board and begin assisting.
Affirmations are a way to shift/change/affect subtle energy fields
(within and without). Affirmations are not to be recited from a feeling of need
or want. The best possible use of affirmations is to come from a consciousness
of knowing and a feeling of gratitude. Sincerely saying "thank you"
after an affirmation is good practice.
What happens when one decrees and affirms is that one's vibration
changes, and this begins the changing of one's life—for better or for worse. It
can be beneficial to intentionally speak positive affirmations and decrees and
statements aloud from your point of power on a daily basis.
So how do you effect change using decrees and affirmations (or
even just affirm and reinforce)? You use
action verbs, for one thing. Some people continue to recommend to affirm and
decree as if something is already accomplished. The problem with that is your
subconscious knows the truth and puts up resistance. Yes, it’s much easier to assume you are a
“work in progress” and use action verbs.
I consciously and intentionally create some positive, feel-good
affirmations to follow the words “I Am.” They can shift one’s frequencies
immediately.
During a consultation recently, I heard the man seeking input say
several times: "I need to __" and "I want to __." Finally,
I blurted out: "No more need to. No more want to. It's I Am--Now."
The statements or words we repeat--aloud or silently--tend to
imprint in our consciousness and to program cellular consciousness, especially
"I Am" statements. Take a few
slow, deep breaths before speaking (or repeating silently, if need be), and
take one slow, deep breath after each statement. Repeat each three times, one right after the
other, and then sit in silence for a couple minutes, centering in your core,
monitoring your body for any sensations and shifts.
Taking full breaths when affirming and decreeing is
life-enhancing. Remember to breathe
deeply and speak slowly and clearly! Again, what happens when one decrees and
affirms is that one's vibrations change, and this begins the changing of one's
life.
It’s too bad that so many people don’t accept that we can change
our lives in various ways with affirmations/decrees. Occasionally, affirming/decreeing about a
current matter only once is enough to shift matters, but usually one to three
times a day for a week or more is a better catalyst. And some issues reoccur
and require attention once a month.
When one begins to use decrees and affirmations and statements,
sometimes one doesn't notice immediate results. For one thing, sometimes one
can get into murky waters as to appropriateness or inappropriateness of
particular decrees and affirmations and statements. When one is wanting to
optimize one's own spiritual, mental, and emotional wellbeing, then one usually
decrees appropriately. It's helpful if you go slowly and don't rush through
this and if you take several deep breaths throughout--particularly between
decrees. Sometimes when some things are cleared/released, other things are
revealed.
Words have power, but when words are married with strong feeling
(from the higher feeling center and not the lower emotional center), then the
power is intensified. So, speak only love and feel the love—not anger. And make the affirmations about your own
self. Be careful when making them about
others because this can cross the line into interference.
There are several forms of prayers, requests,
decrees/affirmations, etc., which are spoken aloud with focus (when possible).
Let’s be careful of the words we follow “I Am” and “I’m” with, and
let’s take the time to make some positive affirmations on a daily basis.
