When I saw a preview of “How to Heal Yourself by Talking to
Your Body” offered by NEXUS magazine on Facebook, I smiled and was inspired to
write another article on this subject for the ♥Angel-Light Beamer♥—this time including excerpts from this article and
the link (https://www.nexusnewsfeed.com/article/health-healing/how-to-heal-yourself-by-talking-to-your-body-1/).
The author’s journey within to discover the healing capacity
of his body was inspired by words of two indigenous medicine women: “Your cells
are listening.” “Every part of your body
has its own consciousness or its own soul.” The author, Therese Wade (www.antarahealingarts.com) reports
that at the time she was suffering from a severe chronic pain disorder. She
reports: “I suddenly imagined
incorporating this concept into my meditation routine. I thought, can my body
hear me… can I talk to it to gain its cooperation in healing this condition?”
Wade reports: “That night, after reaching a state of deep
calm through meditation, I inwardly engaged my body in a heartfelt
conversation, with hope, but having no idea what to expect. After about one
hour of this focused communication, something amazing happened. My tissues
began to respond. Connective tissue pulled and stretched apart layers of scar
tissue. Nerves fired and my calf muscles began to perform flexion and extension
exercises independently of my conscious control. As this response continued,
one of my calf muscles that had become paralyzed by the neuropathic condition —
diagnosed as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy — came back to life as electric-like
jolts shot through the area. My heart pounded as I realized that the path to my
freedom from this condition had finally begun.”
She claims that a regular meditation practice is important to train the
brain to enter alpha and theta brain wave states because, while in these
states, communication between the conscious mind and the physical body is
dramatically enhanced. She also recommends: “Approach your body with genuine
compassion, understanding that it is made up of conscious cells who experience
emotions. Build trust by engaging your
body in mental conversations about your desire for the two of you to cooperate
and overcome the ailment. Allow changes
in the conversation by using different thoughts and words that elicit
spontaneous elevated emotions.”
Although I don’t agree with the author recommendations as
expressed in the full article 100%, I recommend the reader following the link
in the first paragraph and read more.
We have written about this subject for the ♥Angel-Light Beamer♥ several times over the
years. The following are some excerpts
from one of those articles.
A few years ago, someone shared something on the Internet
about the work of Mireille Mettes of Europe—something called “Mental &
Intuitive Reset.” It is very similar to
some other techniques for healing and wellbeing that circulate on the Internet.
The basic step of the MIR Technique is to touch and stroke one hand with the
other while instructing your body aloud to do whatever it is you want it to
do—three times each session, two sessions a day, every day for four weeks or a
month. There is more to the MIR Method, of course, including several
suggestions as to what to ask your body to do. I prefer my own instructions to
the body, and I prefer stroking and patting the heart center and the high heart
center (upper chest) rather than the hand. Some might prefer stroking and
patting the area over the body’s core, which is about where the rib cages meet.
One can designate and set aside time for a short session
with the body. You begin the session by taking several slow, deep breaths using
the full trunk of the body (to enter into a somewhat meditative state) and
continue breathing deeply and gently throughout the process. Focus on the core/center
of your body, which is located between the solar plexus chakra and the heart
center at about the point where the rib cages seem to meet. Think of something
you want your body to do. Focus on your
core and imagine you’re centered there, take a deep breath, and speak an
instruction aloud--respectfully. I like to start each request with the word
“please”; some might prefer to end each instruction with “please”; and others
might feel good about putting the word “please” at both the beginning and the
ending. The word “now” needs to be in most requests/commands at some point—usually
at the end. “Thank you” follows immediately after the instruction.
On the other hand, one can develop a rapport and personal
relationship with one’s body host after realizing the body is your partner and,
at some point, begin instructing your body whenever you wish, wherever you
wish, such as when bathing or driving or doing laundry. General instructions work when actively
engaging in normal daily routines, such as: “Body, please hold the urine until
we arrive home.”
To back up, developing a loving, close relationship with one’s
body host is accomplished by, over time, expressing your love and gratitude to your
body, and doing things that feel good, such as putting lotion on dry areas. “Thank
you, body” and “I love you, body” are words I use often. After rapport is established and ongoing, one
can ask the body what it wants or needs, and self-dowsing with your body will work
well. More specific instructions can be
given at any time, but detailed instructions might be easier if you are in an official
session with your host body. These can
include: “Body, please dissolve all clots and stones in a healthy sort of way
so you can pass them easily and effortlessly—now. Thank you.”
Talking to your body in general helps maintain the integrity
of one’s personal relationship with the body, such as, “Body, I’m wondering if
we should stay out here in the sun another hour.” Often times, you will sense a response from
the body and know what to do or not to do. Now don’t forget to apologize to
your body—such as when you’ve stubbed your toe, eaten too big a meal, or had to
postpone giving your body food when the tummy is growling. Make that a habit!
