Saw a meme on Facebook with these words of Jack Kornfield (www.jackkornfield.com) and chose to also share it:

“Every facet, every department of your mind, is to be programmed by you.  And, unless you assume your rightful responsibility, and begin to program your own mind, the world will program it for you.”

Jack Kornfield (born 1945) is a bestselling American author and teacher.  He has taught meditation worldwide since 1974 and is one of the key teachers to introduce Buddhist mindfulness practices to the West.  Kornfield has worked as a peacemaker and activist, organized teacher trainings, and led international gatherings of Buddhist teachers including the Dalai Lama.

Program your mind.  I like to start with the simple and end with the more complex. However, we’re going to reverse that here to share an affirmation statement recited silently today in meditation and aloud when coming out of the meditative state. If you wish to adopt it for your own use, just substitute your name for mine.  Don’t forget to close your eyes in a quiet place and breathe yourself  into a state of relaxation before repeating these words or any other programming words—in your mind or aloud.

“I Am Angel-Light, and I give thanks that Divine Christ Love-Light circulates dynamically into and through and around my sacred space, transmuting and transforming all negativity into sacred neutrality—now.”   From time to time, we also substitute “all darkness into light” and “all dis-ease into ease” and “all evil into good” and “all sadness into joy” and “all illness into wellness” and so on.  We also imagine that bright light energy moving around as described to facilitate the mind programming.

Here’s another: “I Am Angel-Light, and I give thanks that Divine Christ Love-Light Energy circulates dynamically into and through and around my sacred space, strengthening, and uplifting—now.”   

And one more: “I Am Angel-Light, and I give thanks that Divine Christ Love-Light Energy circulates dynamically into and through and around my sacred space, consuming all that is not aligned with my wellbeing--now.”   

Now let us go back to more simple ways to program your mind.  Start by practicing deep, rhythmic, full-body breathing. Then, begin repeating your words silently in your mind in sync with your breaths. One of my favorites is “strong-body, healthy-body,” with the first word on the inhale and the second on the exhale and repeat.  Sometimes we add “happy-body.”  Another we use is “free-clear, clear-free.”  For a few days this month, especially one that presented numerous challenges, it was “butterflies-flowers, butterflies-flowers, hummingbirds-butterflies-flowers.” Also imagined floating away to a beautiful place with trees, bushes, flowers, hummingbirds, butterflies, etc. and imagining the butterflies sitting on my body and the hummingbirds interacting with our person. “Re-lax, at-ease” is a long-time favorite that we’ve shared many times on the Angel-Light Beamer.

I AM statements (especially spoken aloud from your high heart center aka with love) are good for programming the mind, but not about manipulating or manifesting material goods—at least not directly.  A good way to start is (and switch your name for mine):  “I Am Angel-Light, and I AM beginning to notice______________ (fill in blank) on a daily basis—now.” You could put “more beauty around my neighborhood.” Here’s another: “I Am Angel-Light, and I AM choosing to ________________ (fill in blank)—now. For this latter statement, we recommend “come from love at all times, with all people, in all situations” or “be more kind and compassionate” or “be more loving.”  You can also delete the “to” and simply put “love” or “wellbeing.” For that matter, “allowing wellbeing” is a basic favorite of many people, as is “allowing love.” 

Always emphasize the “I AM” and don’t forget to add the “NOW” with emphasis at the end.

Some people choose to create recordings to play over and over when they sleep.  I don’t feel the need to do that, but you might be drawn to it.

Incorporating as many of the senses as possible when programming the mind is good, such as imagining how a scene looks or a kitchen smells or the fragrance of the flower or the singing of birds, and so on.

This is long enough. We’ll stop here. There is a lot more to the quoted words of Jack Kornfield than what we have presented here.
