GREED VS. NEED

Recently, there has been a discussion in one of my Yahoo groups on a piece posted titled "Why Isn't This Manifesting Stuff Working?" I identified with the post of a man who said that when he was young, the buzz was about “The Power of Positive Thinking," and then a few years later it was about “The Power of Manifestation,” and now it is “The Law of Attraction"--with many books and articles written about same and people appearing on television to discuss them. From what he’s seen and heard, “The Law of Attraction” seems too much like “service to self” (rather than service to others), and he has rejected it. He describes himself as someone who marches to a different drummer because all he has ever wanted is enough. I responded that I identify with his thoughts and consider myself as someone who also marches to a different drummer. On the one hand, it is true that one's vibration/frequency, thoughts, attitude, etc. affect one's life. On the other hand, where does “need” end and “greed” begin?
There's also something else to consider. We set our lives up to experience and learn in certain ways. We have programs and encodements in place to facilitate this. If one's soul wants one thing, and one's personality wants another, guess which is going to win--at least in the long term? One can play the game as instructed in these books and articles and force the issue, but then one's attainments are built on sand rather than on rock.
As far as I'm concerned, the key word is "surrender." Life works a lot easier when one surrenders to one's life plan/mission. I affirm: "In the name of the Christ and under the law of grace, I Angel-Light decree I am aligning with and surrendering to my oversoul's will and purpose for this life—past, present, future--now." It is possible to change one's programs and encodements--with permission of one's hierarchy (which the Angel-Light team has attempted for people and succeeded for some). The reasoning behind such desires for changes in programs and encodements is considered before one's hierarchy makes a decision. So, yes, reasoning with "the gods" before asking does make a difference.
