From time to time, I'll dig into the containers of books in my storage unit and pull out some to read again. Recently, I have been reviewing Sandra Ingerman's "Welcome Home: Following Your Soul's Journey Home" (San Francisco: HarperCollins, 1993). In the introduction, Ingerman informs the reader: "This book is for people who have already done much of their healing work; it is not for those who have not yet begun." Although this book is not about shamanic healing, Ingerman, a protege of Dr. Michael Harner, has spent many, many years as a practicing shamanic healer. Among her other books are: "Mending the Fragmented Self" (1991), "Medicine for the Earth: How to Transform Personal and Environmental Toxins" (2001), "How to Heal Toxic Thoughts: Simple Tools for Personal Transformation" (2007), and "Shamanic Journeying: A Beginner's Guide" (2008).

Something I had previously "starred" (prefer that rather than highlight over the words) seems very appropriate to share as a reminder: "In doing shamanic work with people who are facing life-threatening illnesses, I noticed a significant pattern. People who come to me for a one-time 'fix' and refuse to look at making changes in their lives [do] stay well for some time but eventually fall ill again. By contrast, clients who continue their healing process by making the changes that are necessary to make their lives more life-supportive, who decide how to use their creative energy, beat the odds and live good lives. I don't want to simplify the healing process--I see death not as a failure but as one way for us to transform and heal--but my point is this: It is the responsibility of every individual to choose how to create and maintain health in his or her life. And when people are not willing to do this, I'm not sure their future can change in a positive and significant way."

I totally agree! And this is just as relevant for spiritual healing as it is for physical healing. So many times I have people contact me to "save" or "fix" their loved ones, but rarely do we agree to do so (for the reason that Ingerman gave). We can seek permission to do so from the overself or council of the individual "needing to be fixed or saved" and then proceed, but we cannot coach and teach the individual once we have given the Divine Reconnective Healing process jumpstart. They're on their own afterward!

On the other hand, those who investigate and then request the process for their own selves, have both the motivation and also continuing interaction with the Angel-Light team at their disposal as long as they continue to support the Love Work with referrals and/or donations. These are more likely to achieve longstanding results after the initial jumpstart the process provides.

Seeking to serve (locally and long distance), we are one known as Angel-Light. Our healing/teaching mission at this level of existence is supported by donations. If you appreciate the blogs, the services, and the personal e-mail communications, please donate what you can, when you can, as often as you can.
