Someone posted a picture
of a beautiful waterfall with these words of Chuang Tzu, a Taoist master, on
Facebook recently: "You will always find an answer in the sound of
water."
This reminded me of a recommendation I’ve made to people in the past who claim to have difficulty receiving Divine guidance: Meditate with the sound of running water.

Some people are
fortunate to live near a spot in nature with running water. Others place a large electrical water
fountain for their patio, while some purchase a small electric water fountain
for inside their homes.
If these are not options
for you, try sitting on your toilet (with the lid closed) and turn on the cold
water faucet and let it run slowly while you meditate briefly. Another option is to meditate in the shower
with tepid water running slowly. Some
have success while actually taking a shower.
Just take three or more
slow, deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth, ask for
guidance/input, and prepare to receive.
As with any endeavor, with practice one becomes better.
