When reading in the notes of a good friend recently, some
words of Susan Wisehart in her 2008 book “Soul Visioning” caught my attention
(and this isn’t an exact quote): When we
reach the stage of the soul-infused personality, change will occur. We will
stop wanting something back for what we give; we will stop keeping score of the
hours of service given or the amount of money we contribute (all the while considering
ourselves superior to those around us).
We will have a genuine, heart-felt desire to serve and help, a genuine
feeling of unconditional giving and love.
The need for someone else’s approval or recognition will disappear.
A high standard, is it not? These words are very validating for me (although
I’m not quite 100% there yet). I came in
to serve in the 1980s and had an inner knowing that needs would be provided as we
the Angel-Light Team went about our spiritual and metaphysical mission—not charging
for services. Sometimes my faith wasn’t as strong as it could have been, and I
faltered. I was challenged by people many times over the years (especially in
the first decade) and even scorned for not charging for services. So, I would
set suggested donation amounts for a while despite not feeling comfortable. And
those people who thought the commonly used term “donation basis” (no set
amount) was “free” and didn’t expect to be supportive tested my faith many
times, and I had to stop using the term “donation basis.” Would you believe there would even be some people
who asked for Angel-Light time but wouldn’t follow through because there was
not a set amount of money required for that time? The issues discussed in this paragraph rarely
come up anymore—possibly because we’re semi-retired.
We don’t do business. We do service. We don’t make
appointments and get paid for them. People who are business-oriented may have
issues with it, but that’s not our problem.
We’re comfortable with it, and that’s what matters most.
We are the Angel-Light Team—a collective of beings on mission to
assist humanity. We don’t do business. We do service. We trust Divine to provide for our human
