BASIC 5: SPEAKING THE WORD

Many have heard the term “the power of the
spoken word.” This is not some
new-fangled idea; knowledge that words have power has been around “forever.”
There are words and combinations of words that have more power than other words
to effect change. For that matter, even
thoughts have power, although usually less power than the spoken word.
Florence Scovel Shinn published a book titled
“The Power of the Spoken Word” in 1945. Previous books (on the same topic) were
“The Game of Life” (1925), “Your Word is Your Wand” (1928), “The Secret Door to
Success” (1940). I have a 355-page book in my collection titled, “The Writings
of Florence Scovel Shinn,” which includes all four books. They are considered classic by many and still
available in the marketplace. They are all mostly short and very short
paragraphs, and I recommend them all.
Words spoken aloud in a clear and focused
manner are more powerful than words mumbled hurriedly. Beginning a spoken sentence with “I Am”
emphasized is very powerful. Beginning a statement with “I’m” isn’t quite as
powerful. Ending a statement with “now”
emphasized adds to the power. Speaking the word with feeling is the key to shifting and changing.
And that brings us to something we call
“Statement of Being.” One of the most
important things anyone can do is create a Statement of Being, incorporating your
name, for when you speak your chosen name with strong focus, you become
stronger and increase your personal power to deal with whatever challenges come. If you don’t feel a strong connection with
your name, change it.
Here is a sample Statement of Being that
includes the recommended basic elements.
“I Am [your name], a Sovereign Being. I Am the I Am that I Am. I Am
Divine. I Am Sovereign. I Am Free. Word I Am Word.”
Personally, I have used a variety of personal
statements over the years, including the above with one or more of the following
added: “I Am an Instrument of Divine.” “I Am a Healing Love Lighthouse.” “I Am an Agent of the Light Force of Christ
Michael the Archangel.” “I Am a Heavenly Messenger on an Angelic Mission.” Most recently, partly in fun because of a
Facebook discussion in a private group, I have spoken: “I Am a Sparkling Starseed Lightworker.” I prefer “Lightserver,” actually. Some other
words I sometimes add: “I serve Christ
Consciousness, the Office of the Christ, and the Christed Ones.

being and speak it once a day, you will recognize how powerful it can be—even life changing.
