RECOMMENDED FOR OPENING SPIRITUALLY

Recently,
a Facebook friend asked in a group setting for recommendations for audio books
about opening spiritually. Among the several
recommendations of other members (including my own self) was Neale Donald
Walsch’s first book, “Conversations with God: An Uncommon Dialogue.” Following the release of Book One in 1995, there
came a Book Two and then a Book Three (all the same title). There came several more books in subsequent years,
but these first three books are what are recommended--read in order of
publication.
I also
recommended Eckhart Tolle’s books, beginning with “The Power of Now” (1997).
Next is “Stillness Speaks” (2007), and then there is “Awakening to Your Life’s
Purpose” (2005).
Susan
Shumsky's "Divine Revelation" (1996) is the #1 book I have
recommended for many years—before any of those mentioned above. Here are the names of the sections and
chapters of this spiritual primer are: (1) Awakening the Still Small Voice
(getting spiritually connected; the sound of silence); (2) Getting in Touch
With God (God is within you; your inner teacher); (3) A Road Map to Your Inner
Life (discovering who you really are; developing higher consciousness; (4)
Opening the Pipeline to the Divine (ways to have a spiritual breakthrough;
meditating your way to the spirit; fine-tuning your meditation practice); (5)
Spiritual Healing and Self-Defenses (seven basic methods of spiritual healing;
ways to heal psychic trauma); (6) Becoming Spiritually Street-Smart (voices of
self-sabotage; nine tests to prevent psychic deception; the answers are within
you; (7) Waking Up Your Inner Genius (twelve ways to receive inner revelation;
nine ecstatic expressions of God; little miracles in everyday life). Note:
Google it, and you'll find many places where it is available.
Keep in
mind that whenever we recommend books, it doesn’t mean we endorse and agree
with every sentence or expect you, reader, to do so. Just ruminate and meditate on what you find
of interest or even a little challenging and put the rest aside for the future.
After 30+ years of a spiritual focus to life, I find that I often can still
learn and be reminded of things by re-reading books I read many years prior.
Reading stimulates and inspires spiritual contemplation and, thus, learning
more through Divine communion.
