CHANTING BENEFITS

Depending on what words are chanted and the quality and quantity of feeling given the practice, chanting can clear negativity within and around us and also program our bodies and our minds. Chanting can even put us to sleep.
If sleep is eluding you, and your mind won’t cooperate, chant “quiet mind” and then “relax” and “at ease” silently. Gently, in tune with deep breaths. As you begin to sense a winding down, you can switch to: “sleepy” and then “deep sleep” (again, silently). As you become closer to sleep, the breathing will become lighter. Staying seated in the heart center or even in our core can be helpful. Too often, we’re trying to put ourselves to sleep when our mind and our energy is somewhere else. Far better be it to consciously and intentionally stay in body.
To assist with staying “in body” at times when you’re not wanting sleep, you can chant aloud, in tune with breaths: “center” and “balance.” Or, “being here now.” Placing hands palms down over your heart or between the heart and solar plexus can assist.
When sickly, you can chant: “now clearing, clearing now” (at first) and then move on to “now healing, healing now” and “strong healthy, healthy well” and “healthy, happy.” Move your body or body parts in some way, even if it is just gently patting. Don’t forget the breathing! In fact, a little extra effort to make those breaths less shallow and more deep is recommended. Chanting “love heals” can be very comforting. Chanting “a-living thriving” (with long “I” when pronouncing) also can help once you feel a little better.
You can also chant “a-living, thriving” when you are low in energy or even depressed. If you’re so depressed that you can’t manage that, start with the basics, such as: “I Am” over and over again.
If you feel what some describe as “emptiness” or you don’t sense your Divine connection aka spiritual connection, or you even feel cut off from Source, there are chants for that condition as well, such as “Divine Spirit, Divine One” and/or “Great Spirit, Great One.” Some prefer “Christ Jesus, Jesus Christ” and “Christ Everlasting, Christ Divine.” After these, chanting “One” over and over again while deep breathing can do it for you. Once you begin to sense the Divine presence and a lift in spirits, chanting “Vibrating higher, shining brighter” can put you over the top (from my personal experience and that of others).
If you’re sensing your vibration is lower than you want it to be, chanting (almost like a command): “Love zone now” can take you there. Also useful is: “I Am higher mind” and “higher mind now.” Another is: “Higher awareness now.” To maintain a high vibration, chanting “happy healthy, happy well” can be beneficial.
If you're not already practicing chanting, go for it! Don’t forget to practice conscious breathing to keep your flow of life source energy at optimal levels. And, move your body when chanting!
