Recently, there was a thread on Facebook that included comments about the names of two spiritual teachers offering classes and sessions. The comment that started the name discussion was someone who challenged their names.  

Comment from one who was obviously a family member of one of the two, based on an additional comment: “How did [name] and [name] get their names? It's not who they really are. [revealing info] this is not [pronoun] true frequency. I know this for a fact.”

Response from one of the two spiritual teachers: “Well, no, I'm not [name], but I liked [pronoun] name, so I changed my name to match [pronoun] a few years back, as my birth name no longer felt like a fit.”

Another spiritual teacher commented: “I feel it as all words represent wave form energy.  We are given a wave form energy by our parents and don't really chose it consciously.  As we awaken and our energy changes, as more soul frequencies come in, we may want a NEW wave form to represent these energies coming in, […].  […] I became [name] (a name that more fits my soul essence.)”

Yes, people change their birth names when the birth name no longer fits (or married name, for that matter). The body's name at birth does NOT always remain one's "true frequency” (whatever that is). And sometimes people change their names more than once during one lifetime to reflect who they are at that time in the life. It's disrespectful not to honor the chosen name of another person by using it (in thought and in word). Some of the worst offenders can be family members.

After almost 30 years with my current name, there are still distant blood relatives (an extensive Texas family) who refer to me by the first name given to the body at birth--some of whom pray for me (out of ignorance and/or misinformation) because of the name chosen, so they’re not in my life.  Some closer relations (and some acquaintances) shorten my name to “Angel,” but “Angel” isn’t my real name.  My real name is Angel-Light.  And when strangers ask what my “real name” is, I respond, “Angel-Light, Angel-Light Love.” Sigh!

I had been seeking my new name for a few years after divorce in the 1980s, knowing that neither the body’s birth name nor the married name resonated with who I had become after awakening in this body on mission to assist humanity (soul rotation/switchout aka walkin scenario, which are more common than the average person is aware).  Shortly after the end of a short involvement with a cosmic man who called me his “angel light” and his “light angel” and otherwise validated who I am/was, I recognized he had delivered my new name:  Angel-Light.  I began changing the name in every way but legally (because of the financial expense of doing it legally).  In a few years, I was able to change the name legally.  My last name was not “Light,” but was often used in that way by others.  In our society, people expect you to have a last name.  So before changing the name legally, I felt I had to choose a last name. After calculating the numerological vibrations of several options for full legal name, and after consulting with my angels/staff/crew/team, I chose “Love.”  Changed my name to Angel-Light Love. “Miss Love” isn’t my real name but, in life, you give a little and you take a little.

From time to time, in recent years, I have given some thought to changing my name again, this time to Angel-Light Lovejoy—partly because joy has mostly eluded me in this life (partly because of childhood abuse imprinted in the body—neutralizing and clearing still a work in progress). However, the body is currently 72 years young. Rather than change the name yet again, I have chosen to use the word “JOY” several times in decorative items in my playhouse apartment.   That’ll do!

Wetiko is defined as a “a psychosis, a sickness of the soul or spirit” by Jack D. Forbes in his book, “Columbus and Other Cannibals.”

The reason Paul Levy’s 2013 book, “Dispelling Wetiko: Breaking the Curse of Evil” (forward by Catherine Austin Fitts) first caught my caught is that so many people are in denial that there is such a thing as evil. I am not one of them, and my writing about evil has attracted some criticism from people who are in denial.  People who aren’t in denial that evil exists often share these and similar words:  "It’s a beautiful thing to imagine and affirm the light--just not as an unconscious or fearful reaction against the darkness. Some metaphysical practitioners who call themselves lightworkers, in avoiding their own darkness, are unwittingly reinforcing the very evil from which they are fleeing. Avoiding the examining of darkness and keeping it unconscious is what evil depends upon for its existence. If we unconsciously react to evil by turning a blind eye toward it, we are giving the darkness power over us.”

Here is the description of “Dispelling Wetiko” on Amazon:  "There is a contagious psychospiritual disease of the soul, a parasite of the mind, that is currently being acted out en masse on the world stage via a collective psychosis of titanic proportions. When shadow projection happens en masse, it is as if the archetype of evil emits its toxic radio-activity underground, through the shared unconscious of the collective, and manifests collectively as destructive psychic epidemics."

I subscribe to the daily mailings of quotes/teachings of the Abraham Group through Esther Hicks. The latest in my inbox this morning was from June 2004, and here is an excerpt:  "No one connected to Source Energy would ever [intentionally] harm another.” (I inserted the word intentionally.)  Just last night before going to sleep I shared some thoughts with my Divine on this subject—aloud, as is my habit. You see, I have allowed my person to become distressed over the latest mass killing here in the USA and had tears.  Yes, as a spiritually and metaphysically awake and aware person (although certainly not “knowing it all”), I can mentally/intellectually cope with such events, but emotionally, that isn’t always the case.  On a soul level, there is understanding.  Not so easy for my human self.  When I saw this latest Abraham email, I recognized it as a sign to share some of my thoughts of yesterday evening in an article. 

No-harm living is an intent of many of us living on the planet at this time. However, because we live in these 3D bodies, we harm.  No-harm living isn’t just about no harm to other humans. It’s about no harm to any other living creature (for starters).  The best example that comes to mind is that the ground is teaming with life in most places, and when we walk on soil or grass or weeds, we injure or kill some of that life. We don’t intend to do so; it’s just a side effect of living.  Now some people go out of their way to step on and crush insects, and their intent is to harm those insects.  But many of us wouldn’t intentionally harm insects (most of them, anyway). Some of us catch bees, wasps, etc. that gain access to our homes and remove them outside—still alive and unharmed.  (Tip:  A straw broom seems to be the easiest way. Slowly and gently place the broom near the insect, stop, ease forward, closer, and offer it several attempts to jump onto the broom. Then walk it carefully outside with broom extended.) 

The key word is intent or intention.  If our intent is no-harming living, we don’t need to feel guilty when we inadvertently harm or kill insects.  And if our intent is not to harm another human being but, yet, a person takes offense, it is their choice at some level.  However, we can offer an apology, such as, “I apologize that what I said offended you.”  Or, “I seem to have upset you by declining to serve as one of your groomsmen, but my wellbeing is my priority at this time” (or a slight detail, such as “my new job requires a lot of time and attention this year”).

All that considered, it is not what someone says or doesn’t say, what someone does or doesn’t do (whether intentional or unintentional); it’s how we choose (yes, at some level there is a choice) to feel and think about it and/or react to it.  If we can get in the habit of not reacting from our solar plexus (the seat of the lower emotional body) but acting from our heart center (the higher feeling body) and/or the seat of the soul (in the pineal gland) with compassion, our interactions with others will be more pleasant and our presence in this world will be contribute to the wellbeing of humanity at large.  We won’t be adding anger and hate to the collective consciousness; we’ll be adding love.

Take a deep, full body breath, and proceed with the intent of no-harm living.  

PS:  Here’s a powerful affirmation format I use often: “I Am [your name]. In the Name of Christ Consciousness, with my Applied Conscious Intent, with the Power and Authority of my Divine I Am Spirit, and with the Power of my Spoken Word, I [your name] decree and declare that I Am _______________--now.”  A favorite of mine to fill in the blank is “generating and emanating Healing Love-Light Energy at all times, with all people, in all situations—on a full and permanent basis—now.”
