Bernhard Guenther (www.veilofreality.com) shared words of others about the personality, the soul, and the soul’s calling on Facebook recently.  I’m also sharing, with paragraphs combined for clarity and saving space. I will comment after the sharing of the words of others.

Philip Shepherd in “New Self New World":  The inner physical resonance of the calling can come as a momentary touch of guidance, or as a huge thing that seizes you and sustains years of dedication - which is what happens when you find your 'calling in life', or you true vocation, a word that comes from the Latin 'vocatus', "callled". Whatever the nature of the resonance, it always calls you into the unknown, and it always calls you towards wholeness, and it always calls you to come and play and risk. It calls you to follow your soul's valence, to leave the safety of your own organized inadequacy, to find something out and to grow. By responding to the Call, you knowingly or unknowingly undertake a deepening of your responsibility. It seems paradoxical that in leaving behind the segregated realm of your 'known self' - every part of which seeks your individuation - you more fully discover and grow into your own individuality. But once you have cast off the smothering constraints of 'who you know yourself to be', you will open to the world's perplexity, which calls you to be changed and challenged who knows how. By heeding that call, you are following what in mythological terms is the hero's call to submission: the quest begins, the search is underway, driven by the need to find something out. It is through the quest that you shed your own consolidated 'norms' and discover yourself anew. It bundles certainty and uncertainty together at the same time: the certainty of your heart's desire moving you forward, grounded in the world and awake to it; and the uncertainty of what lies ahead. But the certainty you feel does not rest, as our culture's story would advise, on you having 'found the answer'. The certainty with which the hero moves into the unknown rests on having found his quest - which, as the word suggests, is empowered by a question that has you in its grip and calls you to life. Indeed, both words quest and question take us back to the Latin word 'quaerere', "to seek". A quest is a basic human activity - our search for wholeness- brought into focus and writ large. Your quest is your compass: it orients you to the world and unites you with your heart's desire. When Joseph Campbell famously encouraged his readers to "follow your bliss", he was urging them to heed that compass. And just as the needle of a compass doesn't 'decide' on its orientation, but is aligned by the far poles of the earth, we don't decide on the heart's desire. It is awakened in us by the felt unknown, perhaps by the blinking, steadfast stars returning our gaze. Our word 'desire" contains that exact image: as the remarkable linguist Ernest Klein explains, the word comes from the Latin 'de', "from" and 'sideris', "stat" and originally meant " to expect from the stars." And how many times has someone sat in solitude under the night sky and, glancing up into the stars, found herself connecting then and there in a wholly personal and ineffable way with her own compass? Once the unknown world calls to us like that, we recognize it in our core. And in the same way that a mother's milk is let down when her baby cries, so too sensation is let down into the body when the world calls.  The body enters a kind of fluid harmony such that the merest reverberation of the compass needle will ripple through the whole of it. You become you, you feel yourself - fully present and alive and activated, world-conscious rather than self-conscious. And at that point you face a decision: whether to heed the Call or pull back from it [refusal of the Call].

Osho:  The real self is dangerous: dangerous for the established church, dangerous for the state, dangerous for the crowd, dangerous for the tradition, because once a human knows their real self, they become an individual. We belong no more to the mob psychology; we will not be superstitious, and we cannot be exploited. And we cannot be led like cattle, we cannot be ordered and commanded. We will live according to our light; we will live from our own inwardness. Our life will have tremendous beauty & integrity. But that is the fear of the society. Integrated persons become individuals, and the society wants you to be non-individuals. Instead of individuality, the society teaches you to be a personality. The word 'personality' has to be understood. It comes from the root, persona – persona means a mask. The society gives you a false idea of who you are: it gives you just a toy, and you go on clinging to the toy your whole life. As I see it, almost everybody is in the wrong place. The person who would have been a tremendously happy doctor is a painter and the person who would have been a tremendously happy painter is a doctor. Nobody seems to be in his right place; that's why this whole society is in such a mess. The person is directed by others: we are not directed by our own intuition.

I was reading in an out-of-print book I’ve had for 15 to 20 years last night before bedtime about identifying with your Higher Self and knowing the name your Higher Self utilizes. The authors advise that identifying with your Higher Self creates an entirely new reality.  I can testify to that!   I read that Higher Selves commonly operate under Angelic labels. The name of your Higher Self is often called your Soul name and can even be your Angel name. Once about 25 years ago, an internationally known healer had those of us who had private sessions to look at our true selves, who we really are.  I was stunned to see an angel. Since that time, I have learned much about soul facets/aspects and lifestreams and soul rotation and angels and devils and overlays and overshadows and spirit possessions (partial and full)—information that has been put to good use throughout the years of my ministry.  The authors of the book advise that repeated usage of the name of your Higher Self will bring clarity as to its pronunciation and how its energy affects your reality.  Chanting the name of your Higher Self as a mantra (aloud, when possible) is recommended: “I Am [name of your Higher Self].” I recommend adding, “I Am Soul. I Am Light Divine. I Am The I Am That I Am.”  Angel-Light is my Soul/Angel name. Angel-Light Love is the legal name because society wants citizens to have surnames.  I use Angel-Light Love (and even Angel-Light Love of Texas) in my ministry because there are a number of people around the world using the name of Angel-Light (usually without the hyphen), and I want to lessen name confusion. Again, my name isn’t Angel. I Am Angel-Light, and I am to be addressed and referred to as Angel-Light.

We are the Angel-Light Team—a collective of beings on mission to assist humanity. We don’t do business. We do service.  We trust Divine to provide for our human instrument through the kindness and generosity of others. You may want to support our multifaceted ministry/mission with a donation to Angel-Light Love.
